August 20th-22nd, 2027
Join us at the 6th Annual Fireweed Festival NT, Fort Smith’s music, culture, and community festival.
Celebrating Music, Arts & Culture in the North
Based in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, along the Slave River on the edge of Wood Buffalo National Park, Fireweed Festival NT brings people together through music, arts, crafts, and culture.
Through our annual festival and year-round workshops, performances, markets, and community gatherings, we celebrate Northern creativity and Indigenous cultural expression. We support artists and artisans, connect generations, and create welcoming spaces to share stories, learn new skills, and celebrate the cultures of our region.
Land Acknowledgement
Fireweed Festival NT acknowledges that we gather in Fort Smith, within Treaty 8 Territory, on the traditional homelands of Salt River First Nation, Tthebatthı Dënésułıné First Nation, and the Indigenous Métis people of Fort Smith.
We honour their enduring relationships with the lands and waters, their distinct histories and cultures, and the knowledge and teachings carried forward through generations. We recognize the continuing impacts of colonization and honour the strength and resilience of Indigenous peoples.
Through music, arts, crafts, storytelling, and cultural gatherings, we are committed to supporting Indigenous artists and culture bearers, creating opportunities for Elders and youth to share and learn, and building respectful relationships in the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation.
